There are no hard and fast rules to swimming pond constructions but the basic elements remain the same. The cleaning process works on the basis that the Swimming Pond is formed from two zones, a regeneration area and a swimming area.

 

The regeneration area contains a carefully selected balance of plants which are attractive in summer and winter, they also purify and cleanse the water as it slowly circulates between swimming and regeneration zones.

 

However it is essential to achieve the perfect balance as it is very easy to create an overgrown pond rather than a beautifully finished product.

Too good to be True:

 

Not only does a Swimming Pond offer lower maintainance than a Swimming Pool, but it is entirely chemical free.

 

 According to EU testing it also does a better job, which was proved by a trans European investigation into the health implications of the Natural Swimming Pond.

 

Their findings were that not only did they exceed all standards for purity and water clarity, but even in large public pond the water was reported to be drinking quality in nearly all tested catagories.
